Mission experiences

My son was able to experience some cool things on his mission, that he would never have had the opportunity to do so with out going.....

He was able to take investigators to the Payson Temple Open House several different times.

He started to learn the First Vision in ASL (American Sign Language) and worked with a deaf family.

He had the missionary "Bible bashing experience" with an evangelical Christian.

He gave someone a blessing who was contemplating suicide

He dealt with a "3rd companion" who didn't keep mission rules and saw the consequences
of being disobedient

He learned the importance of Member missionaries in the wards and stakes.  Those stakes whose members truly are involved in the work have many more lessons taught and baptisms.

He learned how hard it is for non-members when members do not allow their children to play with them and when they feel judged.

He helped a brother quit "chewing"

He got to spend a day on splits as a missionary on BYU campus - where he had just been a student

He actually was able to serve in 2 missions - He was called to the Provo, UT mission.
The mission was split on July 1st and he was then assigned to the Orem, UT mission.
He had 2 different mission presidents.
